Studies

Dino D'Autorio began studying classical guitar at a very young age with M° Abner Rossi and then went on to study electric bass with M° Mino Fabiano. 

He then studied double bass at the Civic School of Music in Milan and later attended the Civic School of Sesto San Giovanni (MI). Together with friends Walter Calloni and Mauro Paoluzzi he forms The Cast, with whom he has the opportunity to form a multifaceted rhythm section and record for numerous artists.
He follows an advanced course for double bass with M° Monfredini (Conservatory and Rai - Milan) and graduates in Harmony and Composition for Big Band with M° Filippo Daccò at CDM in Milan (1991).

Artistic and professional activity

Throughout his career, he collaborates as a musician/bassist for records, tours and TV productions with Italian and internationally renowned artists, including: Andrea Bocelli, Al Bano, Angelo Branduardi (2000/2002 European tour), Andrea Braido (Latin Braidus), Michael Bublé, James Blunt, Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso (Capolinea), Claudio Baglioni, Loredana Berté, Adriano Celentano (European tour), Riccardo Cocciante (with whom he plays and collaborates for four years), Fabio Concato (Domenica Bestiale), Franco Califano, Alberto Camerini, Gigi D'Alessio, Tullio De Piscopo, Pino Daniele, Eduardo De Crescenzo, Fabrizio De André (Creuza de Ma), Cristiano De André, Elisa, David Foster, Alberto Fortis, Dario Fo, Mike Francis, Francesco Guccini (Amerigo), Giorgia, Giorgio Gaber, Gloria Gaynor, Enzo Jannacci, Luca Jurman (Live at Blue Note), Kano, Mina, Milva, Amedeo Minghi (Serenata), Mia Martini, Gianni Morandi, Franco Mussida, Pino Mango, Fiorella Mannoia, Gianna Nannini (America), Dolcenera, New Trolls, Nek, Perez Prado Pantaleon, Mauro Pagani (Sogno di una Notte di Mezza Estate), Laura Pausini, Patti Pravo, Eros Ramazzotti, Massimo Ranieri (Perdere l'amore), Enrico Ruggeri (La Parola ai Testimoni and Contatti), Lionel Ritchie, Amy Stewart, Siria, Formula Tre, Roberto Vecchioni, Antonello Venditti, Ornella Vanoni, Renato Zero (Icaro,Tregua, Zero and ZerOpera), Zucchero. Since 2000, he has been part of the Il Volo Srl publishing structure and is artistic director of the nationally circulated magazines Guitar Club and Drum Club. For seven consecutive years, the referendum held by Guitar Club magazine elected him "Best Bass Player Ever" (1985-1992).

He lends his collaboration as a musician in some commercials and theater shows with related albums, among which should be mentioned A Midsummer Night's Dream (G. Salvatores), Grease (1997), The Fame (2004). As sound engineer he collaborates in Cain and Abel, the first Italian musical written and directed by Tony Cucchiara. Takes part in numerous television programs for Rai and Mediaset as a bassist including Una Rotonda Sul Mare (three editions), Buona Domenica (orchestra M° G. Vessicchio - 1995), Viva Napoli (1996 -1997-1998 -1999), Bravo Bravissimo (1997- 1998 - 1999), 30 Ore Per La Vita (1997- 1998- 1999), Io Canto (orchestra M° M. Pica, 2009 - 2010- 2011).
