Masterclass with Bernardo Lanzetti – “The Voice, Singing: a Non-Conventional Approach to Vocality”

The CPM Music Institute hosts Bernardo Lanzetti, a historic voice of Italian and international progressive rock, for an exclusive Masterclass titled “The Voice, Singing – a Non-Conventional Approach to Vocality”, scheduled for Friday, November 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“It is a great joy for me to share my experiences with motivated young people,” says the artist. The session will be interactive, engaging students through reflections, demonstrations, and vocal experimentation.

Author, composer, experimentalist and singer, Bernardo Lanzetti has been active on the music scene since the 1970s. Former member of Acqua Fragile, Premiata Forneria Marconi, Extra, and Mangala Vallis, he has released 23 official albums and more than 120 songs, including tracks performed by Loredana Bertè and Ornella Vanoni.

His artistic path also extends to theatre and avant-garde music, with collaborations with Maurizio Pisati and the late Giorgio Gaslini. He is also the only Italian artist cited among those who have recorded Bob Dylan covers, and the only Italian songwriter ever allowed to co-sign a track with U.S. rapper Busta Rhymes.

Recognized by teachers and scientists for an unusual elasticity of the vocal apparatus, a characteristic still evident at the age of 77, Lanzetti can produce sounds across a five-octave range. He has sung in multiple languages and, as an experimenter, invented the “Glovox”, a glove equipped with sensors capable of capturing the throat’s vibrations and processing them as a monophonic signal.

A completely self-taught artist driven by an original and inquisitive vision, Bernardo Lanzetti continues to pursue a unique approach to vocal research and wishes to share his unconventional experiences with young people interested in singing and in the magic the voice can create — both for the audience and for the singer.

A meeting dedicated to exploring traditional wind instruments and their dialogue with contemporary music. Multi-instrumentalist Giulio Bianco will guide participants through a journey of sounds, techniques, and musical languages, showing how traditional instruments can express new, modern forms of creativity.

Exploration of a Modern Violinist’s Career – Versatility & Collaboration as an Ethos – with Peter Tickell
A talk with Peter Tickell, violinist for Sting and a prominent figure on the international music scene, exploring the violin’s role in contemporary music. Through his experience, Tickell will illustrate how versatility and collaboration lie at the heart of a modern musician’s path, bridging genres, cultures, and sound worlds.

This new album stems from the creative synergy between guitarist Luca Nobis and drummer Roberto Gualdi, two of Italy’s most acclaimed and active musicians. In ÉCHOS DE BAZAR, their style, personality, and experience merge into eleven original compositions blending diverse colors, cultures, and atmospheres — a musical journey celebrating inclusivity and expressive freedom.

Audio Modeling is a world leader in digital emulation of expressive multi-vector acoustic instruments, founded on technology developed by Stefano Lucato and Emanuele Parravicini. Guitarist and composer Ivano Icardi brings his trio to Milano Music Week for a special masterclass/concert. On stage with him: Elio Rivagli (drums) and Andrea Torresani (bass) — an outstanding ensemble. The event delves into timing, groove, and interplay among musicians, combining live performance, technical analysis, and Q&A. Organized in collaboration with Ibanez and introduced by Stefano “Sebo” Xotta, it’s a unique opportunity to explore modern musical language with three leading figures of the Italian scene.

Keyboards Masterclass “Live Synthesis Lab: Sound Design for Live Performance” – with Manuele Montesanti (in collaboration with Yamaha)
Manuele Montesanti is a pianist, keyboardist, and sound designer. After classical studies at the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome, he specialized in Harmony, Composition, and Arrangement at the University of Music in Rome. Having started as a session player for major TV and pop productions (RAI, Mediaset), he now works extensively as an arranger and sound designer for musical productions, film scores, and music software/hardware development (Yamaha, IK Multimedia, AudioThing, GSI, and others).

The CPM Music Institute’s Open Weeks are a key part of the school’s academic calendar, offering students the chance to immerse themselves in an environment rich with artistic and professional inspiration. Held twice a year, in May and November, these special weeks suspend regular classes to make room for concerts, seminars, talks, and masterclasses led by renowned figures from the worlds of Rock, Pop, Jazz, Funk, and Electronic music.

During Open Week, the CPM Theatre stage becomes a crossroads of experiences where established and emerging artists share their skills and stories with students, creating unique moments of growth and exchange.

The CPM Music Institute is hosting a new event dedicated to guitarists: on Saturday, November 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Guitar Masterclass with Manuel Boni will take place — guitarist and composer with extensive experience, currently on tour with ULTIMO.

Masterclass Goal

“Unleash your creativity!”
During the session, participants will explore various technical aspects — position, articulation, dynamics — and interpretative elements — phrasing, style, and musical expression — in the pop field, with the aim of freeing their musical instinct and giving voice to their guitar.

About Manuel Boni

Born in Savona in 1984, Manuel Boni studied jazz guitar under Alessio Menconi, later specializing with Danilo Minotti and Giorgio Secco.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with Antonello Venditti, Fabrizio Moro, Marco Carta, Renato Pozzetto, Sergio Sylvestre, and Daniele Ronda, and participated as a guitarist in The Voice of Italy (Rai, 2014).
He has performed in musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, High School Musical, and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and composed jingles for popular TV shows like MasterChef, L’Isola dei Famosi, Pechino Express, Hell’s Kitchen, and 4 Ristoranti.
