The Commitment of CPM Music Institute to Social Causes

On the occasion of Milano Civil Week, from May 9 to 11, the Casa Jannacci opened its doors to the public with a series of free events: cooking, carpentry, Thai dance and sewing workshops, a photography exhibition by Guido Harari, and most notably, the inauguration of the Audioteca for Emotional Relief, conceived by Franco Mussida, founder of the CPM Music Institute. This space, designed to promote mindful music listening, aims to support guests in fragile emotional states, guiding them on a journey of emotional awareness and fostering positive change.

On the May 11, 2025, 7:30 PM edition of TG3 Lombardia, a special report highlighted the joint initiative between the CPM Music Institute and Casa dell’Accoglienza Enzo Jannacci in Milan, showcasing CPM’s commitment to social causes through projects such as CO2, San Patrignano, Progetto Arca, and Casa Jannacci.

The Concert: A Bridge Between Music and Inclusion

The event culminated in a concert held in the facility’s garden, featuring Paolo Jannacci, artists from the CPM Ultra Pop Band, and the Coro Arca—a choir composed of asylum seekers and recipients of international protection hosted by Progetto Arca facilities. The performance symbolized the meeting of different cultures and the unifying power of music.

CPM Music Institute's Social Engagement

For over 35 years, the CPM Music Institute has developed projects that use music as a tool for emotional support and social inclusion. Among them is Project CO2, which has introduced music libraries in 12 Italian prisons to promote conscious listening and emotional relief. Furthermore, partnerships with the San Patrignano community and the Progetto Arca Foundation have extended the therapeutic use of music into rehabilitation and shelter contexts.

Project CO2: Music for Mindful Listening

Project CO2 ("Controlling Hate") is an initiative that brought music into 12 Italian prisons, including San Vittore, Opera, and Rebibbia. Through music libraries featuring instrumental tracks categorized by emotional states, inmates can embark on a path of mindful emotional listening, encouraging personal reflection and emotional regulation.

Collaboration with San Patrignano

In December 2022, CPM launched a music library at the San Patrignano community. With around 2,000 instrumental tracks, the library offers guests a listening experience that helps them explore and understand their emotions. This space has become a key element in rehabilitation programs, integrating music into the recovery process.

Initiative with Progetto Arca

In November 2024, in collaboration with the Progetto Arca Foundation, CPM inaugurated a music library at the reception center on Via Fantoli in Milan. Inside an igloo-shaped structure, guests—homeless individuals, people with addictions, or asylum seekers—can access a wide range of musical tracks via tablets. This space, called the "Musical Station for Emotional Relief," is designed to offer emotional support and promote social integration.
