The CPM for “Quel Gran Genio”, the 3 days dedicated to Lucio Battisti
In Milan “Quel Gran Genio” festival dedicated to Lucio Battisti
After last year's success, "Quel Gran Genio", the festival dedicated to Lucio Battisti, returns to Milan from 27 to 29 September for the second edition!
With numerous events throughout the city, "Quel Gran Genio" pays homage to the singer-songwriter's entire recording work: from the first successful 45s to the electronic breakthrough of the "white records" made with Pasquale Panella, obviously passing through the immortal songs written with Mogul.
Preview of the festival on September 26th with the concert “Mina E Battisti: Il Duetto e altri Storie”, which will be held at 9pm at the Martinitt Theatre. The evening will see musical moments alternating with interventions by Enrico Casarini, author of the book "Il duetto Mina-Battisti" (published by Minerva Edizioni).
The show, which will feature the Avanzi di Balera group, will be a celebration of the unique and historic duet between Lucio Battisti and Mina, which took place on 23 April 1972 during the Teatro 10 broadcast, which saw the two interpret some of Battisti's greatest hits, scoring a historic moment for Italian television.
We get to the heart of the festival on September 27th at 10.30am at the Auditorium of the CPM Music Institute with the conference “Anima Latina: just an album of songs?”, conceived on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the historic album, which still exists today considered one of the major works of the Battisti – Mogol partnership, as well as of the entire Italian music.
The meeting will be moderated by Francesco Paracchini, organizer of the festival, and will feature Renzo Stefanel, journalist and rock music historian, Marco Masoni, music critic, and Paolo Jachia, teacher and writer, as speakers.
