A special person has pass. An important person in my life and CPM Music Institute as well. Remembering it is complicated. With pain, affection and a lot of nostalgia I try.

It was 1984 when Giannino D'Antonio, myself and Patrizia Petroni, in front of a Milanese notary, decreed the birth of the "Centro Professione Musica" (CPM), today CPM Music Institute. It was a "karmic" meeting between people who strongly believed in a new vision of education linked to popular music and the educational and social mission that still lives in our school today.

Giannino's son, Giuliano, also contributed to the social initiative and was an important inspiration. It is also thanks to this meeting of people that we can reclaim the important role that we play today in the musical education sector in our country. The story is long to tell. But it is certain that the first 13 years of work with Giannino in the role of Manager and CEO, and with Patrizia, in the important role of Director and Operational Coordinator, were the years of the School's powerful initial push; an essential push for the development of the current CPM Music Institute, of this University of sound and music, which this year turns 40, many and few at the same time...

I have presided over the CPM uninterruptedly since 1984, and I still have the honor and privilege of being its custodian today. I can therefore say that what we are and what we will be in the future, we also owe to Giannino D'Antonio. Sensitive, passionate, sometimes harsh and grumpy, not very inclined towards mediation, he asked for dedication and ethical clarity. He was courageous, intelligent, stubborn, demanding, with the loving ability to help humanly, to invent and reinvent himself. For me he was a fundamental person among those I met in the second part of my life. A unique person with whom I spent a generative time in the name of a complex friendship; I learned a lot from him and I owe him deep gratitude.

Giannino has now ended his earthly existence. It's a sad day. Personally, on behalf of the entire CPM, with Loredana Pezzoni who today holds the important role of CEO, we embrace with feelings of love the Heart of his wife Patrizia and his son Giuliano: his family, the cornerstones of his life.
The CPM's 40th anniversary celebration will also be his.
