JASPERS present the new album, LIKE DONKEYS IN THE WELL

We saw them every Sunday onQuelli che il calcio (Rai 2) from 2017 to 2021, but we at the CPM Music Institute know them well because the Jaspers Fabrizio Bertoli Voce, Giuseppe Zito Voce, Francesco Sgarbi Keyboards, Eros Pistoia Guitar, Erik Donatini Basso met and trained in our school.
The group is certainly a rock band, but difficult to categorize.
It has within it many artistic and musical influences that range from rock, pop, alternative, progressive, reggae, funk to classical music.
Come Asini nel Pozzo is their third album, the first produced entirely by the band.
A story of personal growth, which is inspired by a popular fairy tale that underlines the importance of never stopping fighting to overcome difficulties even when everything seems to be going in the worst way.
The Jaspers also saw themselves transformed into donkeys and found a way to get back on top thanks to ten large and important steps: the songs on the album
Music is therefore seen as a saving element and the album symbolizes, for the band, a rebirth and a new beginning.
Musically the album is a concentration of styles blended with the classic recipe that has always distinguished Jaspers; a mix of genres so wide and eclectic that it makes them difficult to label within a single definition. The roots are undoubtedly those of independent alternative rock, but which has been heavily contaminated by the influences of each individual member of the group. Each piece represents a world apart, a different message conveyed while maintaining its own peculiarity and poetic identity.
Two main themes addressed in the texts: the social and climate changes that our planet is experiencing, seen through an ironic and self-deprecating gaze; our continuous search for a way to face and navigate unscathed the strangeness and madness that we encounter every day in the world and among people.
A curiosity: to learn more about everything related to donkeys, the band spent an entire afternoon at the "La Casetta Verde" donkey farm in Porlezza (Como). Hosted by the breeder Piergiuseppe Mazza and his five donkeys of different breeds, the Jaspers learned characteristics and curiosities about this fantastic animal which they then told in a series of Reels/Shorts/TikTok in documentary style. At the end of this experience the breeder awarded the group with a nice honorary degree in "Theoretical and applied donkey breeding".
